You can connect your own Anthropic API key in Settings. When you do, your AI messages are billed directly by Anthropic at their rates — and your Orbit token limits no longer apply. BYOK is available on every plan, including Free.
On the Free plan, you get 50K Haiku tokens per month. Once used, messaging pauses until next month — or you can upgrade or add your own API key. On Pro, once your 2M Sonnet tokens are used, you automatically switch to unlimited Haiku so you're never blocked.
They're different Claude AI models. Sonnet is smarter, more capable, and great for complex tasks — it's the default for Pro users. Haiku is lighter and faster but less detailed — it's what Free users get. Pro users fall back to Haiku after their Sonnet quota, so you're never left without a response.
Tokens are the units Claude uses to process text. A typical message uses roughly 1,000–4,000 tokens depending on length and complexity. Your usage is shown as a simple percentage bar in Settings — no need to track the numbers yourself.
Your tracks, captures, and files are never deleted. Conversation history on the Free plan is retained for 30 days. If you upgrade, your full history is restored.
Yes. Upgrade instantly, downgrade at the end of your billing cycle. If you downgrade to Free with more than 8 active tracks, your existing tracks remain — you just can't create new ones until you're under the limit.
